THE DREADED ROUTINE INSPECTION

To many tenants, the quarterly or routine inspection, as we in the industry call it, can feel like an unwelcome intrusion. We understand and empathise with your busy lives—juggling work, kids, sports, and everything else life throws your way—only to receive a letter informing you of our impending visit. We acknowledge that while some people may have homes that are always pristine, for working couples with children, keeping everything in tip-top shape isn't always that easy!

So, please, stop stressing. We recognise that everyone needs to live in their homes comfortably. Here are a few things we typically look for during inspections, and hopefully, this will help you rest easier the night before:
  •     Clean the oven and cooktop: Regular cleaning of appliances can significantly reduce wear and      tear.
  •     Clean carpets, if you have lived in a property for more than 6 months, and have children and        or pets,  look at the carpet, does it need a cleaning?
  •     Mow the lawns and weed the garden.
  •     Clean your bathrooms: Pay special attention to showers, baths, and toilets.
  •     Leave a note if you need any repairs or maintenance attended too.
  •     Restrain any animals: If possible, keep pets away during the inspection.
  •     Let the Property manager do her job, don’t hover, they know what they are doing.
  •     Be aware that the property owner may attend the inspection.
  •     Relax: Remember, it's only 15 minutes of your life.
  •     If you need to reschedule, please do so in advance: Last-minute changes can disrupt schedules      unless it's an unavoidable emergency.

At First National Property Solutions, issue certificates and a McDonald’s voucher to children who make an extra effort to tidy their room, we love to see children involved in making a house a home.

To all our amazing tenants, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your cooperation during routine inspections. Your willingness to assist us makes our job easier, and we truly appreciate it.
