5 Ways to fake a clean bathroom

Got visitors coming over and don't have enough time for a thorough, 3 hour bathroom clean?

We've found 5 fast and foolproof bathroom cleaning hacks that will get you across the line in less than 15 minutes.

When you're short on time, you want to tackle the things that visitors will always notice in your home like smells, dust and a lack of toilet paper in the loo.

While this speedy routine isn't designed to replace a regular deep clean, it will ensure your bathroom is presentable for guests.
 

1. REFRESH YOUR BATHROOM MAT

Got a spare bathroom mat lying around? Swap out your current mat for a freshly washed one to make your bathroom look like new.

If you just have the one and it's looking sodden and due for a wash, it's best to remove it completely.

To improve the slightly soaked mat you already have in your bathroom, spray some antibacterial cleaner to the fibres, as the mist will linger for longer and provide a fresh scent all evening.
 

2. TARGET THE MOULD

Mould found in the corners of your shower is an indication you definitely need to clean, but your guests don't need to know that!

Products like Exit Mould can be sprayed onto mould, left for 3 to 10 minutes (depending on how tough the mould is) and then rinsed away with warm water.

The removal of the mould will make your whole shower look clean.
 

3. DO AWAY WITH DUST

A quick wipe over any shelves in your bathroom can make them well and truly sparkle. 

The clear shelves found in many bathrooms are the worst when it comes to detecting dust, so ensure you use an antibacterial spray and a warm cloth to wipe them down.
 

4. DISINFECT THE TOILET

When it comes to the toilet, the best thing to do is to let a product do the hard work for you.

Start with products that can be applied under the rim of your toilet and that clean with each flush; both disinfecting your loo and emitting a fresh, pleasant smell that lasts for weeks.
 

5. LIGHT A CANDLE

By simply lighting a scented candle you're providing your bathroom with a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Not to mention the fragrance will freshen the smell of your bathroom! Flowers also add a sweet touch.

 

DON'T FORGET!

• Always ensure you're stocked up on toilet paper to avoid leaving your guests in the lurch.

• Wipe down the sink and taps with a disposable cleaning wipe to remove any toothpaste, scum and water marks.

• A fresh, dry hand towel is a must.

• Keep personal items and makeup stored away.
