How the right plumber can benefit a real estate agency

As a property manager, you know that when something goes wrong with a tenant's plumbing or hot water system, you need a reliable contractor to sort the problem out both quickly and efficiently.

Alternatively, you might be a landlord in need of an experienced and reliable plumber to carry out all those important renovations where any delay may cost you money.

The thing is, there are lots of plumbers and plumbing companies on the Gold Coast, but how do you know you're going to find one that is reliable and has the expertise to carry out the vast array of jobs that you might have? Here at First National Palm Beach, The Pines & Burleigh, we provide our tenants and landlords with a prompt and reliable residential plumbing, hot water, and gas fitting services.

Our handymen are comprised of qualified and fully licensed plumbers, gas fitters, and drainers, and as a result they can take on just about any project. They have the skills and manpower to get the job done!

Below is a short Q&A with our Plumbers, Damian Towell (father) & Danny Towell (son).  Damian has been with us for approximately 7 years now.

Q.1 How is your service crucial to the survival of our landlords’ properties?

Without maintenance checks, fittings on fixtures can become brittle, in some cases corrosion and electrolysis occurs causing leaks, which then cause damage to the property and then you have blockages in storm water and sewers drains which can become expensive jobs if not maintained and cleared, not to mention the odour of a sewer choke. By performing regular or required maintenance it helps to keep your fixtures in good working order and helps prevent the risk of larger issues from occurring, which intern saves the landlord money and keeps the tenant happy.

Q.2 What is a good day and a bad day at work?

This is a good question! A good day is when i can get through the day without cussing most of the time. But seriously though, if we stay on time and everything falls into place we normally end up with an early finish. A bad day is just the opposite when nothing you do goes right, jobs don’t go to plan, we get behind, we are late for following jobs which means a late finish.

Q.3 What is the weirdest thing you came across on a job?

I definitely can’t elaborate on weirdest thing we have found on here but I did inform you (Celine). The next was probably removing a 100mm diameter root 15m in length from a sewer by tying a rope around and through the root ball and attaching it to the excavator and pulling it out in one piece. Then I’d have to say removing another plumbers electric eel that had snapped in a sewer drain causing it to continually block up. The eel was 34m in length after we removed it and laid it on the lawn.

Q.4 What do you reckon your best “plumbing” skill is?

Best skill any plumber can have is being good at problem solving!

Q.5 If you could share one red hot tip with a tenant, what would it be?

Do not touch stuff you know nothing about no matter how handy you think you are. And when you are renting a property treat it as your own home.

Our handymen are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have an emergency plumbing situation, please contact our office on (07) 5559 9600 or Damian (after hours) on 0406 661 711 and we will come to you ASAP!
