Totes For Kindness - Christmas Appeal 2018

Megan Harris started Totes For Kindness back in 2015 as she wanted to find a way to give back to the community rather than just giving money.

Megan wanted something more hands on and so Totes For Kindness is just that. There's a shopping list of basic staple items plus Christmas items and you fill a reusable shopping bag with these plus any optional extras you'd like to add and then we have an allocated drop off week where the public can bring in donations to the drop off points which is First National Palm Beach office and also First National Burleigh office. They are then collected by Megan and a friend and given the once over (they've received alcohol and a lot of expired food in the past, and she's talking like 5 years past expiry type items so they are required to check everything) and delivered to the Gold Coast Youth Service and the Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre at time that suits them.

They also collect donations of individual food items, brand new toys for babies and children and gifts for teenagers and adults, plus toiletries which they use to make up gifts for the teens and adults and also toiletry packs for those sleeping rough.

In regards to the drop off week this year, Totes For Kindness are accepting donations from Monday 10th December - Monday 17th December.

We look forward to seeing you pop into our offices soon...
